Part of the long-term vision for creating an indoor velodrome in the Ottawa region is finding ways to make it sustainable. A velodrome is costly to build, but the long-term health of such a facility rests on a constant stream of funds to keep it running.
That’s why the Ottawa Velodrome Project organizers created the Champlain’s Folly Cyclosportif. The inaugural edition ran on July 14, 2013, and we expect it to grow over the years to become not only a cornerstone of the Ottawa Velodrome Project, but also an event cyclists look forward to each summer.
